Bills Fire Ken Dorsey
In a move that is not so surprising this morning the Buffalo Bills fire Ken Dorsey as the team’s offensive coordinator. Since Dorsey arrived in Buffalo, he has not been able to fill the shoes left by Brian Daboll. I’ve seen a bunch of takes around the move that all make sense. However, this ultimately boils down to Sen McDermott trying to save his job. The Bills have not been able to establish a rushing attack under Dorsey to compliment the elite passing attack. I think these two reasons ultimate led to the decision for the Bills to fire Ken Dorsey. In comes Joe Brady to take over play calling duties for the remainder of the season. If the name sounds familiar, it should. Brady was the Passing Game Coordinator for LSU when Joe Burrow and company rewrote the record books. Although his NFL career hasn’t seen the same success.
Let’s get back to Ken Dorsey. Was it the right move for the Buffalo Bills to fire Ken Dorsey? Probably, but the timing tells me that this was not a move that head coach Sean McDermott wanted to make. The problems the Bills have had on offense started showing themselves last season. This feels like a move that GM Brandon Beane or one of his bosses came up with after the game last night. Josh Allen owns some of the responsibility as well. Josh Allen leads the NFL in turnovers this season and every year since 2018, the year that he came into the league. So Ken Dorsey is out in Buffalo, but will the problems with the offense follow him out the door? I don’t think so.
