Southwest Florida Has One of the Most Unfaithful Cities in America

Relationships should be sacred, but cheating does happen. Apparently it happens a lot more in Florida than it does in some other states. Miami and Fort Lauderdale rank high on the list of the Most Unfaithful Cities, but look who else is on there.  Cape Coral.

My Dating Advisor has put together a list of the most unfaithful cities in America. “Cheating can happen,” they state in the article. “We put together a list of who cheats, and the results are pretty fascinating.”

My Dating Advisor used data from the U.S. Census Bureau to calculate their own “Infidelity Index” for 200 major U.S. cities. Let's see where the cheaters are. My Dating Advisor "compared 200 of the largest metro areas across four key dimensions: 1) Relationship Satisfaction, 2) Life Satisfaction, 3) Infidelity Intent, and 4) Affair Activities." This takes into account "marriage, divorce, and separation rates." They also looked at the number of venues to meet for an affair and the volume of searches for affair hookup websites -  App downloads and Google searches. When it comes to cheating, opportunity has always played a role. But now with apps like Ashley Madison, and of course Tinder, Bumble, and Grindr, it's easier than ever to initiate an affair.

So with that, it's easy to see how some of the bigger cities in Florida ended up on this list. But Cape Coral in the Top 100? is cheating really so prevalent in Cape Coral that it made a national list? Apparently so. Here's how some Florida cities ranked on the list. If you want to see the whole list, that's here. The top 3 on the list are all in Texas.

#13 is Miami. No big surprise there.

#17 is Fort Lauderdale.

#18 is St. Pete.

#23 is Tampa. Lots of places for hookups there, too.

#36 is Orlando. People go there for more than just the theme parks.

#74 is Cape Coral. Apparently the boredom of Cape Coma has been getting the best of people.

Cape Coral ranked higher on the list than other Top 200 Florida cities like Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Gainesville.  So what is it about Cape Coral, and why are affairs more common there? Number 74 nationally, is not a good place to be.

With the ominous title of "These Are The 5 Most Most Dangerous Florida Cities " comes a bit of good news. Last year(2022), 6 Florida cities made the Top 100 List. Melbourne, Panama City, Lake Worth, Daytona Beach, Palm Springs, and Riviera Beach.  In the 2023 update, no Florida city cracked the Top 50. And there's definitely been some shuffling. Conversely, in 2016, 12 Florida cities made this list. Locally, just 12 years ago Fort Myers ranked high on this list. Now it’s not on here at all. Think you know which Florida cities did make this top 10 list? Wrong. Miami didn’t make it.

Here’s the methodology, according to Neighborhood Scout :”Our research reveals the 100 most dangerous cities in America with 25,000 or more people, based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Violent crimes include homicide, rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. Data used for this research are 1) the number of violent crimes reported to the FBI to have occurred in each city, and 2) the population of each city.” It continues “Once we have this complete and accurate count of crimes for every city in the nation, our analysis takes the violent crimes for each city with 25,000 or more people, and divides them by the population of the city, divided by 1,000.  This establishes a violent crime rate per 1,000 population that is used to compare every city.”

I’m proud of Florida for only having 5 cities on this list this year. But that’s because what the list is. Violent crimes. Assault with a pizza. Throwing an alligator through a Wendy’s Drive Thru window. Driving a golf cart naked down I75. Those are the crimes Florida is known for. And those didn’t fall into the FBI violent crimes category. But here’s the cities that do find themselves on this list of Dangerous Florida Cities. I’m staying Florida centric on most, but I will do the top 10.

Riviera Beach at the 57th most dangerous city in America. And even with that, that's 9 spots better than last year. Sure, there's crime in Florida. But it's safer here than in most other parts. Here's the top 10 from across the country.

I had to look this place up. Here's what I found " Depending on where you live in Bessemer, you could be in a high crime area or in a rural setting that is somewhat safe. Inner city Bessemer is not the safest place to be after dark, but by day it is mostly ok. "

'mostly ok'
