Art and music weekend...and more
Live music has always been a part of the culture of Southwest Florida. This weekend, you will find it more places than your favorite bars and restaurants. There is a Latin fest on one end of the spectrum. And on the other, a rock and roll benefit concert for Hurricane Ian recovery. Both are listed below along with a few things for art lovers to do.
For food and drink lovers, there is a beer fest at the Bell Tower where Mac-n-Cheese also takes center state. And in Port Charlotte, you can celebrate your Italian heritage. There is even something special for animal lovers in Estero on Saturday. More below.

Downtown Fort Myers Art Walk
The first Friday of the month, downtown Fort Myers comes alive with art. The galleries feature special exhibits, see artists in action and enjoy all kinds of activities. The event runs from 6-10.
Hispanic Heritage Music Festival with Tito Nieves
Tito Nieves, the so-call Pavarotti of Salsa headlines this event at Seminole Casino Hotel in Immokalee. The event is called Latinos Unidos and features a variety of performers including The Celia Cruz All Stars and Cachao’s Mambo All-Stars. Gates open Saturday at 1 p.m. and entertainment at 2. $39 general admission, $69-$89 for VIP tickets. More info here.
Hurricane Heroes Concert
Saturday at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, catch the music of Matchbox Twenty and Don Felder of The Eagles, and more, at the Hurricane Heroes concert. It's a fundraiser for Hurricane Ian recovery, and to help local musicians along with other nonprofits. Music begins at 6pm. $69-$199. More info here.
Ride 4 The Rescues & The Fallen
It's the Innaugural Ride 4 The Rescues and The Fallen, showcasing K-9 officers and raising awareness for Adopt a Shelter Pet Month. Additionally, there will be Cell Dogs for adoption, a petting zoo, pony rides, music and all kinds of kids activities.Event is free but donations are accepted for shelter supplies such as food, blankets toys, potty pads, etc. Saturday, October 14 from 11-2, Estero Community Park
Italian Heritage Month
Celebrate Italian heritage all day Sunday at Pioneer Plaza in Port Charlotte. Enjoy music a spaghetti eating contest and more. Find more info here.
Belltober Beer Festival
Not only do you get to sample all kinds of fall beers at this event, you also get to sample a variety of mac-n-cheese from the restaurants at The Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers. This festival also features vendors, games, music, ax throwing, a cigar lounge and more. Friday 6-9 p.m. $30 in advance, $40 at the gate. Proceeds benefit the United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades. IMAG Community Day
The IMAG History & Science Center in downtown Fort Myers is offering half-off admission Saturday for this annual family event. There will be all kinds of activities for kids including crafts, animal shows, and science shows. 10-5, adults $9.75, college students and children ages 3-18 $7.50.k More info here.
Quilt Show
This annual event takes place at the Edison Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers. Dozens of quilts will be on display in all kinds of designs hung from clothes lines at the historic homes. A certified quilt appraiser will also be on site to take a look at your antique quilts for a fee. Saturday 10-2.. More info here.
Save Second Base Pub Crawl
This pub crawl in downtown Cape Coral is to raise money and awareness for Partners For Breast Cancer Care. It kicks off at 6pm Big John's Plaza with a photo booth, then it's off to the 12 participating restaurant and bars to sample themed food and drink. Get your passport stamped at each spot to win prizes. $15 in advance, $200 day of.
