Social Media Influencers Using Their Platforms To Help Clear Teacher Wish Lists
It's that time of the year again. Summer is more than halfway over for our Southwest Florida students and teachers. 2023 is really flying by.
With the end of summer comes preparation for the new school year. Teachers across Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties are finalizing their wish lists for the 2023-2024 school year. By creating these lists, they can share with friends, family and parents of students, with the hope that some will pitch in to help clear teacher wish lists.
It takes a lot of supplies to get a classroom up and running. I have plenty of teacher friends myself, so I have seen the type of stress these men and women are under, just wanting to provide the best environment for their students.
I was scrolling through TikTok the other day, and I was pleasantly surprised to see some huge influencers using their platform to help teachers in need. Not only are these influencers spreading the word to help teachers clear their Amazon wish lists, they're clearing many of them on their own dime. Talk about using your platform for good.
Alix Earle is arguably the largest TikTok influencer out there right now, and she got the conversation going. With a simple ask from a teacher, Earle took to her channel and shared with her 5.5 million followers, Teacherwishlists.com.
If it wasn't for seeing her video, I wouldn't have known about this amazing, free resource, available for teachers to share their lists with more people. And if I don't know about it, a lot of other people don't know about it either.
