That storm that just rolled through here was no joke. I'm in Estero, Florida, near Fort Myers, and the power cutting on and off woke me up just before 7am Sunday morning. Lots of thunder and lightning and driving rains. For people more north, like in Palm Beach Gardens, the big part of the storm hit last night.
Video posted by CBS 12 shows someone in a car in Palm Beach Gardens recording the storm.
According to the comments, it was at the Oakbrook Center on Route 1 in the Juno Beach area. That's when a tornado came across the road and flipped a car into another. If you look closely, you can see two cars going up.
This is video shortly after:
In Florida, we all stay prepared for hurricane season, but big storms can happen in April. As we get into rainy season, remember that these storm cells can produce small tornados. It's always best if you can wait it out before you take to the roads. I've lived in the Fort Myers and Estero area a long time and one thing always happens. First the storm, then the police and ambulance sirens.
