Florida Vacationers Are Shipping Their Clothes Here To Bypass The Airline Baggage Fees
Well here's a hack. Most of Tik Tok is just annoying dance videos but every once in a while they unleash a gem. Shipping your clothes to Florida rather than pay the airline baggage fees.
Personally, I thought that I was being smart when I flew last December. I did no checked bags and brought a personal item (backpack), and a roller carry-on. Because I pay for the cheapest ticket, I usually board in the last zone. I wait for the announcement to say that there's limited space in the overhead bins and that you can check your carry on at the gate for no fee. Boom. Hand them my carry on, grab the receipt, and have a seat. I just checked a bag for free.
Here's how this person skipped the Spirit Airlines baggage fees. Spirit only allows one small personal item before they start upcharging.
$34.33. So how much does Spirit charge for a checked bag? This next visitor to Disney World has the answer.
She did even better. I'm thinking you could take the next step on this. Vacuum seal your clothes and do one of those flat rate boxes from the post office. The other option is totally old school. Wearing all your clothes on the plane. I think there was a 'Friends' episode about something like that.
So the next time you see flights starting at $39 dollars + all the extra fees. There's at least a way around paying the airline baggage fees.
The Post Office. And before you say "What if the Post Office loses my package and I don't get my clothes?" We're talking the airlines here. The odds of your mail getting lost, and the odds of your checked baggage getting lost, are probably about the same.
