We all know about the Will Smith and Chris Rock incident that happened at whatever award show that was. The only part of the awards show I actually remember was the part where Will Smith assaulted a much smaller Chris Rock for telling jokes. I really couldn't tell you what happened during the rest of the show.
Well, this is not that Will Smith.
It was the Los Angeles Dodgers star catcher Will Smith. It seems that fans got jokes too. Dude got booed for having the same name. How'd the baseball player Will Smith handle it?
A triple off the wall. That's how you handle the crowd.
The slap heard from around the world Sunday night (March 27) sparked fans to do what they do best during a moment in pop culture: make memes.
Will Smith won his first Oscar Sunday night for his portrayal of Richard Williams (tennis greats Serena and Venus Williams' father) in King Richard. However, shortly before his acceptance, he slapped Chris Rock for making an insensitive joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Since the incident, Will has apologized to Rock and Jada plans to begin healing from the ordeal.
