2021 brought us Casey Bishop on American Idol and now we get to cheer on another local star who has made it to the big screen... 20-year-old Ryleigh Plank from Fort Myers!
Plank, a graduate from Cypress Lake High School, made it through auditions for season 21 of "The Voice" on Monday night.
Coach Kelly Clarkson was quick to turn her chair around, but Plank's performance of Demi Lovato's "Anyone" brought coach Arianna Grande to tears.
"You brought me to tears... I was welling up. I felt that so deeply," Grande said. "It was so beautiful and I could tell that you were singing from a very real place."
Ultimately Plank ended up choosing Team Ariana.

Plank is the third Cypress Lake graduate to appear on a singing competition show, according to NBC2. Casey Bishop made it into the top 4 on American Idol and Vonzell Solomon (Baby V) finished in third place on American Idol season 4.
Ben Allen from Estero was also a recent contestant on "The Voice" and before him was Emmane Beasha from North Port who appeared on ‘America’s Got Talent.’
