A father and son have been arrested in connection with the February slaying of Ahmaud Arbery, an unarmed black man who was gunned down while jogging through a Georgia neighborhood.

Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis, 34, were taken into custody Thursday and charged with murder and aggravated assault, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday evening.

The arrests come just days after cellphone video of the shooting surfaced, sparking racial tensions throughout the state.

Gregory McMichael, a former police officer, previously told investigators Arbery had "violently" attacked his son, and the two fought over Travis' shotgun before the younger McMichael shot Arbery twice.

The video told a different story -- and proves Arbery was an innocent victim in the incident, says his mother, Wanda Jones. "He was out for his daily jog and he was hunted down like an animal and killed," Jones says. "I'm hoping that all involved, they're indicted and they go to jail."

Finally! maybe some justice for the family after waiting two months for these two men to be arrested.
