The Miami Hurricanes Host The Florida State Seminoles Highlighting Week 10’s Best Of The Rest In College Football

The Miami Hurricanes host The Florida State Seminoles highlighting week 10's Best Of The Rest In College Football.

Florida State at Miami, 7:30 ET on ABC

It's been an interesting and somewhat frustrating year for both of these teams this season.  No question, the Hurricanes have by far played the most inconsistent of these two great rivals.  You all know by now the ups and downs that these two teams have gone through so lets get right to it.  It should be close to a sell-out at Hardrock Stadium on Saturday night.  Needless to say the crowds for the Cane's games at home this year have been pathetic.  I think that will change Saturday night.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

Florida State can clinch bowl eligibility, Miami can give its bowl hopes a major shot in the arm, but really this game is about bragging rights. The winner will be fueled by it for the next 365 or so days. The loser will have to carry it around for that long.

KEY MATCHUP

Florida State QB Jordan Travis vs. Miami's secondary. Travis is having, by far, the finest season of his college career and is coming off a career-best 396 yards last week against Georgia Tech. He'll face a Miami secondary that has been prone to giving up big plays. The Hurricanes cannot afford to give up many in this one.

Nuggets

The average score of a Florida State-Miami game: Seminoles 21.5, Hurricanes 21.3.  Of the previous 66 meetings, 29 were decided by seven points or less, 20 decided by three points or less and there have been eight one-point games. (Miami is 7-1 in those games).

Florida State 24 Miami 20

(5) Clemson at Notre Dame, 7:30 ET NBC

Clemson has won 14 straight games, the longest active win streak in the FBS. With a win on Saturday, the Tigers would record their third win streak of 15+ games under Dabo Swinney. Since 2008, the only other teams to record three separate win streaks of 15+ games are Alabama (5) and Ohio State (3).

After starting the season 0-2, Notre Dame has won five of its last six games, including a victory over No. 16 Syracuse this past Saturday.

Pete's Prediction:

Clemson 26 Notre Dame 16

(16) Penn State at Indiana, 3:30 ET on ABC--Also known as "The Craig Shemon Bowl"

The Nittany Lions are looking to bounce back after being outscored 28-10 in the final 9:26 of the game against Ohio State.  Historically, Penn State has dominated the all-time series against Indiana, going 23-2 in their meetings. However, one of the victories for Indiana came in 2020, by a single point.

Pete's Prediction:

Penn State 42 Indiana 12
