When you think of the quintessential Florida dessert, you may think Key Lime Pie, however as of this week, Florida now has an official state dessert.
NBC2 reports that Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law on Monday at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City making strawberry shortcake with natural Florida dairy topping the official dessert of Florida.
DeSantis said, "Signing this bill at the Strawberry Festival is one way that we are supporting our Florida strawberry farmers and is a tribute to the more than 10,000 acres of strawberries that are grown in the greater Plant City area."
