Week 6 of the college football season is here! And we pretty much know the identity of the teams around the country. What's sad is after next weekend we are half way through the season. We've already had 5 coaches fired through the first 5 weeks. Scott Frost at Nebraska, Herm Edwards at Arizona State, Geoff Collins at Georgia Tech, Karl Dorrell at Colorado, and Paul Chryst at Wisconsin have all been axed this season. There are still college coaches on the hot seat. College programs are not afraid to admit they got the coach wrong and move on quickly. There is so much money in college football that a few million in a buyout is just a drop in the bucket.

A problem in college football is everyone is trying to be Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia. Schools need to know what they are, and be happy with it. Wisconsin can not recruit at the level of Ohio State, so they can't be as good year in and year out. But what Wisconsin can be is a solid program every year that peaks every 3 or 4 years to make a Big Ten Championship push. Knowing your identity is important in college football, and we've seen schools try to improve and have it blow up. Just look at Nebraska. That fan base ran Bo Pelini out of town for going 8-4 every year and brought in Scott Frost. How did that work out? I have come up with 5 names that are currently on the hot seat. Just a few bad losses on the back half of the schedule could spell doom for these coaches. Here are your top 5 college coaches on the hot seat.
