Queen Elizabeth's funeral fashion, Royals rockin' black.
If you've ever been to a funeral, there's a good chance you've struggled with what to wear. Black is most often worn color. It's the traditional color for mourning in most, but not all cultures. If not black, subdued colors are typically favored by those grieving. However, I've been to celebrations of life, memorial services and such, where color is encouraged.
In one instance, the family suggested that those attending wear the favorite color of the deceased...red. It felt odd but I did it. In other cases, I wore a dress that I knew the deceased liked. It wasn't black, but neither was it red.
When it comes to funeral fashion, one of the biggest rules is not to dress in a manner to call attention to yourself. Don't wear clothing that is too revealing or outrageous. Black dresses are sexy, they are glamorous, but less is more when mourning the dead.
