Florida Atlantic Represents Hometown Florida Pride

Florida Atlantic

Florida Atlantic is headed to the Sweet 16. Two days after they won their first NCAA tournament game, the Owls took care of Cinderella story, Farleigh Dickenson University Sunday night to earn another first - a date with Tennessee at Madison Square Garden. Furthermore, the team that calls sunny Boca Raton, FL home actually has a roster full of Floridians. Florida Atlantic has six players from Florida on the team. Including a Freshman from Punta Gorda.

While the University of Miami (the other Florida team to make the Sweet 16) is the more popular name and sport destination, it's the Florida Atlantic squad that is truly representing hometown pride in the tournament. The Owls have six players on the roster that hail from the Sunshine state. In addition, these six players cover each grade level from Redshirt Freshman all the way up to Senior.

In number order - Freshman Forward, Brenen Lorient #0 is from Ocala, FL. Sophomore Forward, Giancarlo Rosado #3 is from West Palm Beach, FL. Junior Guard, Bryan Greenlee #4 is from Gainesville, FL. Sophomore Forward Isaiah Gaines #5 is from Pensacola, FL. Senior Guard Michael Forrest #11 is from Lauderhill, FL. Finally, Redshirt Freshman Forward, and locally, Tre Carroll #25 is from Punta Gorda, FL.
