Miami is back in the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive tournament for the first time in schoo9l history.
The Hurricanes had 3 Sweet 16 appearances prior to the 2022 run (2016, 2013, 2000).
Miami won its 27th game of the season. That’s tied for the second most in a season in program history (29 wins in 2012-13).
Jim Larrañaga earned his 9th NCAA Tournament wins as Miami’s head coach. All other Miami head coaches combined for 4 NCAA Tournament wins.
Miami outscored Indiana 29-11 on second-chance points, the most such points by any team in an NCAA Tournament game since North Carolina had 29 in the 2017 Round of 64.

Isiah Wong is the second player in Miami history to score 20+ points in 3 NCAA Tournament games, joining Johnny Hemsley.
On Sunday, Wong had success down low and from outside as he scored 10 paint points and 12 points on 3-pointers.
Norchad Omier grabbed 17 rebounds for Miami, a single-game NCAA Tournament record for Miami, surpassing his own record from the Round of 64 vs. Drake (14).

In a losing effort, Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis is the third player with consecutive games of 20 points and 5 blocks in an NCAA Tournament since blocks became an official stat in 1986.
He joins LSU’s Shaquille O’Neal in1992 and Navy’s David Robinson in 1986 (3 straight).

The 5th seed Hurricanes will face their biggest challenge yet as they will play #1 seed Houston in the Midwest Region on Friday night in Kansas City.

Florida Atlantic reaches the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
The Owls are the first Conference USA team to reach the Sweet 16 since Memphis did so in 4 straight tournaments from 2006-09.
Florida Atlantic recorded its 33rd win of the season. That ties them with Houston for the most in Division I. It is also the most by a C-USA team since Memphis in 2008-09 (33-4).
Florida Atlantic outscored Fairleigh Dickinson 17-4 in transition after the Owls failed to score in transition in their Round of 64 win vs. Memphis.
Davis Makes Owls History.
Johnnell Davis is the first player with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals in an NCAA Tournament game since steals became official in 1986.
Davis scored 20 of his game-high 29 points in the second half as he found success in the paint. Overall, Davis scored 16 paint points and was the only player in the game with double-digit paint points.
