The Tampa Bay Rays are moving their 2025 games to Tampa's George M. Steinbrenner Field, following the damage to Tropicana Field from Hurricane Milton.
"We deeply appreciate that the Yankees have graciously allowed us to play at Steinbrenner Field for the 2025 season," said Rays Principal Owner Stuart Sternberg.
To commemorate the move, the Rays will be offering promotional giveaways at games throughout 2025. Notable items include a retro 90s hat on May 21, a cooling towel giveaway June 8, a Josh Lowe City Connect bobblehead on July 22, and a Rays football jersey on September 1. Season ticket holders receive MLB.TV, early purchase access, and store discounts.
A special three-piece bobblehead collection displays Junior Caminero, Shane Baz, and Taj Bradley. The figures sit on bases marked with the former Yankees owner's initials.
The players will wear City Connect uniforms on Tuesdays and most Fridays and retro Devil Rays uniforms on Saturdays.
Bill Walsh, the Rays Chief Business Officer, expressed optimism about the upcoming season. “We know that the 2025 season at Steinbrenner Field will bring new challenges, and we are working hard to create an outstanding game day experience for fans,” he said in a team press release. “We worked with Major League Baseball to craft a game schedule that considers weather, traffic and other events in the area. We're excited for a fun and memorable year ahead.”
