Happy Birthday Shaq!

Happy Birthday Shaq!

Shaq was born on March 6, 1972 in Newark, New Jersey. The basketball legend and sports commentator played for six teams over his 19-year career in the NBA and is a four-time NBA champion. He is regarded as one of the greatest basketball players and centers of all time. In addition to his basketball career, O’Neal has released four rap albums, with his first, 1993’s ‘Shaq Diesel,’ going platinum.

Happy birthday Shaq!  Yes, Shaquille O'Neal arrived in this world on this day in 1972.  Undoubtably, Shaq is one of the greatest players in the history of basketball.  His powerful 7-1, 325 pound frame made him unstoppable in the paint.  Thus, players fouled him on almost every play underneath the basket due to his massive size.  But refs couldn't or wouldn't blow the whistle, so Shaq played under a unique set of rules.

After starring at LSU, Shaq, began his pro career with the Orlando Magic.  They made him the first pick of the NBA draft in 1992.  His star rose early on.  But his stardom jumped to a new level when he moved to "Hollywood" and became a Los Angeles Laker.  Eventually, out west he won three straight titles with Kobe Bryant and won another with the Miami Heat.  In all, Shaq played with 6 NBA teams.  However, now he is a staple at the desk of Inside the NBA, one of the premiere studio shows in sports.

Certainly, everybody in the world knows Shaq. So trivia today on Craig Shemon and Company on ESPN Southwest Florida should be a breeze!   Good luck!
