St. Patrick’s Day is always a good time, but some cities definitely celebrate more than others and Spirit Airlines has getaways to some of those cities from RSW for under $50.
After 4th of July and Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day is up there as one of my favorite holidays. It’s a bit of a different celebration here in Fort Myers for me. But that’s because I’m from Chicago where St. Patrick’s Day is the biggest holiday of the year. Some of my favorite memories were of St. Paddy’s celebrations in the city. They dye the river green, there are bar crawls in seemingly every neighborhood and it’s a time to don your green and just have fun. Sadly, I haven’t been back to Chicago for a celebration since I moved to Florida in 2018. But I was just telling a friend who came to visit last weekend that I should. And this may just be a sign that it’s a good idea.
Spirit Airlines Has St. Patrick’s Day Getaways Under $50 From RSW
I mentioned Chicago because that’s where I’m from. But some other cities really celebrate big too. And Spirit Airlines is coming in clutch with some very affordable flights for St. Patrick’s Day. Some may call it the luck of the Irish! Now, anywhere you go, locally or out of town, will probably have something to do. You know you’ll be able to find a bar with green beer and maybe even a corned beef sandwich. But if you’re looking to check out a city that goes all out, flights start at just $44 one way to Boston. Of course Boston has one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the entire country. To Pittsburgh, flights start at just $58 one way. And to Chicago, you can fly for just $74 one way. There also discounts if you book a flight and a hotel together.

5 Florida Airports Rank As Worst For Lost Luggage In US
Vacations and travel are supposed to be fun right? What could be worse then getting to your destination to find that your luggage has been lost? No one wants to wear their plane clothes any longer than they have to.
Unfortunately, it’s happening all too often across the United States and apparently, especially here in Florida.
I’ve been a victim of lost luggage in the past and it just plain sucks. That’s all there is to it. We spend so much time packing and planning, to make sure we’ve got everything we need for a trip. Then to find out you’ve got nothing, and don’t know when or if your stuff will ever reach you. UGH! Super frustrating.
With summer in full motion, the crew over at Forbes, put together a list of the worst airports in the country for lost luggage.
In order to complete the list Forbes Advisor compared the nation’s 100 busiest airports using TSA data across four metrics.
- Number of property damage claims per 100,000 domestic passengers: 30% of score.
- Number of property loss claims per 100,000 domestic passengers: 30% of score.
- Percentage of property damage claims reimbursed in full: 20% of score.
- Percentage of property loss claims reimbursed in full: 20% of score.
The worst airport for lost luggage isn’t in Florida. Phew! Taking the number one spot is John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Also among the top 10 worst were Los Angeles, Norfolk, Boston, Harry Reid in Vegas, Newark, Daniel K. Inouye in Honolulu and Dulles in Washington DC.
