Sanibel Ice Cream Shop Finally Opening After Hurricane Ian

Scooping green ice cream into a waffle cone

I love to hear it!!!  Another local business is opening their doors again.  This time, a Sanibel ice cream shop is reopening their doors to the public following the devastation the island saw following the direct hit from Hurricane Ian in September of 2022.

I was just out on Sanibel and Captiva last weekend for the first time since the storm and the damage was incredible.  Of course, there have been many improvements over the last several months, but there's still a lot of work to be done.  Being able to have dinner at one of my island favorites, RC Otters, and grab a slice of orange crunch cake from Boops by The Bubble Room with my daughter was just what we needed.  It's a summertime staple for our family that has obviously not been possible for a while.  It was so nice to be back!

Sanibel Ice Cream Shop To Reopen

Pinocchio's Original Italian Ice Cream announced via their Facebook page that they would reopen in February.  It's been over 500 days since Hurricane Ian and they are looking forward to welcoming customers back after what they called a long time for them to recuperate, rebuild and reconnect.

The green umbrellas are ready to welcome you back on Tuesday, February 13th from 11am - 9pm.  Pinocchio's in the Periwinkle Place Shops on Sanibel.

Ranking The 12 Top Places For Ice Cream In Fort Myers, because July is National Ice Cream Month. A couple of Cape Coral and Alva locations snuck onto the list.

July already?  Where has 2023 gone?  Wasn't Valentine's Day yesterday?  WOW!

According to National Calendar Day, we should all be gearing up for a cup or a cone, because July is National Ice Cream Month.  With that in mind, we thought what better a time to share the top rated places for Ice Cream in Fort Myers this summer, and some fun Ice Cream Facts.

Did you know?

If you're like me, you prefer a cup.  I'm simple really, two scoops of traditional strawberry and I'll walk away happy.  If I'm feeling a little edgy, I might ask for a waffle cone.  Unpopular opinion, I cannot stand chocolate ice cream.

Anyway, to put this list together, I took to the crew over at Yelp!  They're the experts at customer ratings and reviews, so why not take a look at their favorites in Fort Myers

These are the top 12 places for ice cream in Fort Myers you might want to add to your summer list of treats.
