JetBlue Direct Flights From Boston Area Will Bring Influx of Red Sox Fans To SWFL
As if it isn’t busy enough in Southwest Florida this time of year, things are about to get even more busy as JetBlue direct flights have been added to and from Massachusetts to Fort Myers at RSW. And they start now!
It’s officially the snowbird season. If you haven’t noticed yet, then you haven’t been out on the roads. The traffic is back in full force and with Spring Training looming, it’s only going to get worse.
JetBlue Direct Flights
Back in April of 2023, Jet Blue made the announcement about the addition of a new leg in and out of RSW. This new leg, which took flight yesterday (January 4th, 2024) flies between Worcester, Massachusetts (ORH) and RSW here in Fort Myers. In addition, JetBlue will also begin seasonal direct flights twice a week from RSW to ORH and in mid-February will increase to daily flights. This is of course when Southwest Florida sees an influx of travelers from the Boston area, in town for Red Sox spring training baseball at JetBlue Park off Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers. These flights will make it easier for those fans to travel south.
Robin Hayes, chief executive officer, JetBlue, had this to say, “Customers can now much more easily travel back and forth to Florida with JetBlue’s low fares and award-winning service, including with daily flights to Fort Myers during the Red Sox Spring Training.”
Red Sox Spring Training at JetBlue Park
Spring training tickets are available now. In my opinion, these are one of the hottest tickets this time of year, so if you want to check out a game, you need to act fast. The first home game this season is on Friday, February 23rd at JetBlue Park. The Boston Red Sox will take on the Northeastern Huskies at 1:05pm.
