Sword-Wielding Senior Goes Medieval in Ocala Road Rage Incident

Road rage can bring out the worst in people, but Gervacio Aranca Jr. from Ocala took it to a whole new level. This 65-year-old man managed to turn a simple traffic disagreement into a saga that involves a revved-up engine, a flying object, and a sword.

Accordingh to FOX35, it all began innocently enough, at a traffic light. Aranca apparently felt the need to serenade the world with the sweet melody of his engine revving. The victim, not a fan of impromptu car concerts, decided to confront Aranca at his window. Clearly not a man of words, Aranca opted for the classic "drive-off" maneuver, setting the stage for a duel on wheels.

The shouting match that followed on Highway 200 came to a climax when Aranca chucked some mystery object from his vehicle. Not cool. Because it caused about a grand in damages to the victim's car. Aranca then pulled over, unsheathed a sword (where does one even get a sword these days?), and attempted to stab the other driver!

Thankfully, the victim managed to dodge the swordplay and escape unscathed, documenting the entire spectacle on video. The deputies, armed with this visual masterpiece, tracked down Aranca using his license plate. After a couple of missed attempts, they finally cornered him, but not before Aranca concocted a tale him being the victim of road rage and a phantom gun-wielding confrontation.

Miranda Rights were read, but Aranca went for the strong, silent type routine. Now, he's staying over at the Marion County Jail, with a $19,000 bond as a souvenir from his little road trip. Just when you thought you'd seen it all in Florida... Swords and road rage. Definitely a combination we didn't see coming.

What's with Waffle House lately? I keep looking, but we're not seeing any really good fight scenes. Now to be clear, I'm not looking for people to get hurt, but I miss the craziness. Last month in Virginia a woman got shot, but there's no video of the fight. Also, like I said, we're not looking for people to get hurt. Just Waffle House fight video craziness. Especially Florida Waffle House craziness - my favorite.

Before we get to that, maybe here's some insight on why we've seeing less fight videos. The Waffle House employees are fed up. Not just with the fights, but with their situation. They want $25/hr, pay, security in all stores, an end to mandatory meal deductions. The third demand is the one that caught me. So they have to pay for a meal whether or not they eat at the restaurant? I've worked at many restaurants and pizza places and I don't recall ever paying for a meal. Sure, there were some hard nosed bosses that said you needed to pay for food, but we always found a way around that. At Waffle House it's automatically taken from your check.

So maybe there's some compassion for the employees right now. They really do go through a lot. So I'll put my favorite Waffle House fight video below. And no one got hurt in the video. If you're at work, watch the sound. There's a LOT of words in these videos that could get you in trouble with HR.

This is from an Orlando, Florida Waffle House. This woman was acting up, so an employee carried her out of the store. She happened to be upside down. I don't know what happened, but I'm on the employees side.

This one happened in Georgia last Christmas. Or was it Texas? I don't remember. We've all seen the chair throw and catch, but have you seen the mayhem that led up to it? This one was nuts, but not my favorite.

Here's a more recent one, posted last summer. This fight seemed to be more about destroying the Waffle House than throwing hands. Maybe WH employees do deserve $25 an hour.

Nothing sums up a Waffle House fight quite like this guy. As the fight rages on, he puts his focus on the food. It's not about him - and he don't care. I love that.
