Miami Dolphins 2020 Draft Class

Miami Dolphins 2020 draft class

The Miami Dolphins 2020 draft class was always going to be the foundation in which the future was built. The Miami Dolphins stripped the roster down to the studs in 2019. They cut players, traded players, and acquired draft capitol and salary cap space. All with the intention of the Miami Dolphins 2020 draft class being the future of the franchise. The Dolphins had 3 first round picks and six of the Miami Dolphins first 70 picks. The first round picks were Tua Tagovailoa, Austin Jackson, and Noah Igbinoghene. Tua has answered the questions surround his arm strength and durability. Igbinoghene never found his footing with Miami, never playing a larger role than backup. Austin Jackson was the one who's career could have gone either way. And in 2023 he has elevated his game to a Pro-Bowl level. And he will be with the franchise for a long time.

Austin Jackson will be with the Miami Dolphins for the next 3 seasons while making up to $39 million according to reports. Meaning Chris Grier hit on 2 of the 3 1st round picks in 2020. And that's huge as the Miami Dolphins 2020 draft class was always going to be critical for the future success of the team. Looking beyond the 1st round picks that year, Grier did a great job. Robert Hunt was taken in the 2nd round. Chris Grier drafted Tua's blind side within 21 picks of each other. The other 2 picks in the top-70 were used on Raekwan Davis and Brandon Jones. Both guys are still hanging around the team and have been contributors for the defense. Although I don't know if either guy sees a second contract in Miami.
