Meet Ronald David Bacon, a man who seems to have taken the phrase "practice makes perfect" a bit too literally. The 51-year-old Floridian from Pinellas County has recently achieved a idiotic milestone... His seventh DUI charge since 1991. It's like he's collecting DUIs the way some people collect stamps or baseball cards.
According to the WSBTV, a report from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office stated that Bacon's most recent escapade occurred while he was steering a white minivan north on U.S. 19. It was a routine stop at 10:49 p.m., or as routine as it gets when you've been down this road six times before. The Tampa Bay Times reported that Bacon's eyes were bloodshot and watery, his speech sounded like it had taken a detour through a slushie machine, and he emitted that classic Alcohol fragrance.
Apparently, this isn't Bacon's first rodeo or seventh, for that matter. His DUI rap sheet reads like a greatest hits album: 1991, 1997, 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2017. This dude is a walking, talking advertisement for rideshare services.
Now, Bacon, the daredevil that he is, not only drove under the influence but also did so with a suspended license and in an unregistered vehicle. It's like he's trying to collect traffic violations like some darn pokemon cards.
When the sheriff's office tried to administer a field sobriety test, Bacon refused faster than my kid refusing broccoli at dinner. And as for providing a breath sample, well, let's just say he wasn't volunteering for that science experiment either.
So will Bacon's streak continue, or will he finally hit the brakes on his DUI adventures? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure... Florida's roads are safer without characters like Bacon behind the wheel.
‘Faulty Elevator’ Destroys Florida Man’s $250,000 Ferrari Roma
Does insurance cover this? I'm looking at the picture still wondering how this happened. A quarter million dollar Ferrari Roma smashed up at the bottom of a car elevator.
Judging by the pictures, it looks like this happened at Ferrari of Palm Beach. Reports say a car elevator malfunction caused the car to hang in the elevator shaft. The drop must have pierced the fuel tank as they had to call the fire department to deal with the gas leak. They had to shut off the power to the dealership and clean up the gas before they could continue. Then it's heavy equipment time.
Time to call a real Florida Man with a giant tow truck with a 45 foot boom and multiple 50,000 pound winches to pull that car out of the hole. I don't know who's car this is, but since the fire department blurred out the license plate I'm guessing the car may have belonged to a customer. Imagine owning a quarter million dollar car and have it fall off an elevator. My car is worth no where near that much and I'd be pi**ed. Maybe they were considering trading that V8 Ferrari Roma for the new V12 anyway. That insurance check gonna be more than what I paid for my house.
