When Hard Rock Sportsbook reopened in Florida last week, I'm not sure they envisioned paying out one of the largest payouts on a parlay bet ever reported. But that's what happened. Welcome back, huh. A Florida bettor had placed a $500,000 four-leg NFL parlay and nailed it. The 4 legs were:
• The Houston Texans to beat the Cincinnati Bengals
• Texans-Bengals to go over 44.5 points
• Texans running back Devin Singletary to score a touchdown
• Singletary to go over 51.5 rushing yards
A last second field goal by Texans kicker Matt Ammendola sealed the upset win for the Texans over the Bengals. The 30-27 win satisfied the second leg. And Singletary took care of the rest with 150 yards and a touchdown.
Scoring that Florida bettor a massive payday.
But for every big winner, there's plenty of big losers. Someone bet $1.12 million on Kent State (+10.5) vs. Bowling Green. BG won 49-19. "Why the hell would somebody put a million [dollars] on a 1-8 team? Why would you do that?" Shahrouz Ebadian, a tech executive in Fort Lauderdale told ESPN.
In other news, the Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee is gearing up to launch Craps, roulette and sports betting on Thursday, December 7. The roulette table is already set up, just behind the car at the front door.
