Stupid Criminal: Florida Burglar Busted After Leaving Behind His Phone

Mugshot of stupid criminal, Terry Jeffcoat, attempted to rob a home in Lehigh Acres but was busted when he forgot his phone at the crime scene.

Meet Florida man Terry Jeffcoat, this wannabe criminal mastermind planned to get away with the perfect robbery. But instead this stupid criminal found himself caught red-handed. You see, Terry thought he had it all figured out when he decided to target a home in Lehigh Acres. But as luck would have it, he forgot one tiny detail that would come back to bite him in the, well, you know where.

According to NBC2, It was a regular Thursday, and the homeowner was casually moving stuff into her new digs. Little did she know, her peaceful day was about to take a detour down Crime Lane. Pulling into her driveway, she couldn't help but notice that something was amiss. The garage door, usually a sentinel of security, was standing wide open. Panic mode: activated.

Quick thinking was her game, and she dialed up a friend for backup. Together, they ventured around the corner of the house, only to lock eyes with none other than our evil doer, Terry Jeffcoat, sauntering toward the back door like he owned the place.

Fueled by fear (and maybe a dash of anger), one of the women took matters into her own hands, grabbing a gun and confronting Terry. She wanted answers, and she wanted them now. Poor Terry, however, had no satisfactory response to offer. In a desperate bid for freedom, he bolted towards a nearby canal, hoping to make an escape.

Stupid Criminal:

Once inside, the ladies took inventory of their losses. Four suitcases crammed with clothing and shoes, a golden necklace worth a cool $1,000, and a bunch of other stuff. All of it adding up to about $400. But one item stood out like a sore thumb... Terry's abandoned smartphone, the very thing that would lead to his undoing.

As the Lee County Sheriff's Office discovered pry marks on the damaged garage door frame and swiftly tracked down Terry to a trailer nearby. Sensing the jig was up, Terry surrendered himself to deputies with a muttered admission that he'd "messed up."

In a twist of fate, the search of Terry's place of surrender uncovered stolen suitcases loaded with shoes and the golden necklace. Terry was slapped with a bunch of charges, including property damage, larceny, and burglary, and he now enjoys a less-than-glamorous stay at the Lee County Jail.

Moral of the story, don't forget your phone at a crime scene. It's the 21st-century Achilles' heel for an aspiring stupid criminal like Terry Jeffcoat.

Florida Man Arrested While Trying To Conceal A Stolen Semi Truck By Spray Painting It A Different Color Like On GTA V

Why can't a Florida Man find a Pay n' Spray when he needs one? Reinier Lazaro Perez and Dayanly Cutino Gonzalez were spotted behind the Days Inn in Palm Coast Florida. They were spray painting a Peterbilt semi-tractor in the back corner of the parking lot. The hotel is located just off I95, we'll get back to that. Someone (who obviously can't mind they own business) thought that someone spray painting a semi truck in the parking lot of a hotel was suspicious. So they called the cops. When Flagler County Sheriff's Office  deputies arrived the two dropped the cans took off running along Southbound I95. That's your escape plan?

Dayanly clearly hadn't been doing her cardio and was quickly captured. Reinier managed to hide in the woods for about 2 hours before they found him.

The Peterbilt semi-tractor had been stolen just hours earlier from Columbia County, Florida.

The recovered semi-tractor is valued at $280,000. The semi-tractor’s original color is pink (really). The pair were in the process of spray painting the stolen semi-tractor red to conceal its original color when deputies arrived. Makes sense. I'm actually impressed with how good their paint job was coming along. They even took the time to tape it off. The semi-tractor’s GPS had been disabled and removed but was found nearby in the woods.

The female subject, Dayanly Cutino Gonzalez, was placed under arrest.  Her charges were Resisting Arrest Without Violence, Grand Theft - Motor Vehicle, and Felony Criminal Mischief. She was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. She's out after posting $13,500 bond.
Florida Man Reinier Lazaro Perez, was placed under arrest for Resisting Arrest Without Violence, Grand Theft - Motor Vehicle, Felony Criminal Mischief, Possession of a Removed Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and Possession of Fentanyl. There's that last one. Fentanyl. Seems like it's not a Florida Man story without Fentanyl.

I'm actually impressed with the tape job

Good choice of paint. Long lasting
