Here’s a trend the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels need to jump on. Another Florida minor league baseball team is already is. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have listed their stadium on Airbnb for a modest $5,143 a night. The price includes up to 10 people and as far as what can you do? Well, just about anything goes.

According to their listing “Want to hit with your friends in our batting cage? Be our guest! Want to play catch on the field at 11:30 PM? Be our guest! Want to take batting practice while having a couple cold ones with the boys? Be our guest! Want to take down your siblings in ping pong and video games in the clubhouse? Be our guest! Want to enjoy breakfast at home plate? Be our guest!”

The price listed includes up to 10 guests sharing a bedroom with 2 queen beds and 4 bunk beds. You’ll have full access to the clubhouse, lounge, the field, whatever. They also keep a staff member on call in case you need something. My take would be to throw your own victory celebration in the clubhouse. You’ll probably be hit with a cleaning surcharge. But worth it.

There’s a kitchenette if you feel like making a snack, but I’d hit up their catering package. No reason to stay at a ballpark unless you’re knocking back brews and hot dogs. And don’t forget the merch.

So how popular is this? The Blue Wahoos first listed their Minor League Baseball stadium on Airbnb back in 2020 for $1,500 a night and it sold out quickly. Now it’s more than $5,000 a night. Inflation, I guess.

The 15 Best Minor League Baseball Team Names - Ranked

Minor League Baseball is always looking for ways to put fans in the stands. From fun promotions during the game, to discount nights. For instance, the Sioux City Iowa Explorers do a ‘Pack The Park Night’ where everyone gets in free. The Dayton Ohio Dragons let scouts camp out on the field after some games. Our very own Fort Myers Mighty Mussels have a special promotion just about every single game. The big one is the July 3rd fireworks show after the game. This looks to be the biggest fireworks show ever held at Hammond Stadium with a 12 minute display.  But the Explorers and Dragons lack what Fort Myers has. A name on this list.

Having a truly unique Minor League Baseball team name makes them more memorable. Which can attract crowds. And sell more merchandise. It’s why Florida’s very own Fort Myers Miracle changed their name to the Mighty Mussels. They can name the team anything they want as long as we can do the Festival Of Beers and I can bring my pretzel necklace. But this isn’t a ranking of promotions, it’s about team names.

Since I’m a Fort Myers resident and totally biased, we need to keep this impartial. surveyed 4,000 baseball fans across the nation to find out the ranking for the most outrageous Minor League Baseball team name and here’s what they decided.
