Miami Hurricane Senior guards Haley and Hanna Cavinder have announced they are leaving the University of Miami basketball team. The twins, who transferred from Fresno State to Miami last year, have decided to forgo their remaining year of eligibility of college basketball. It was initially believed that Haley wanted to stay and was trying to convince her sister to remain as well. “I’m going to try and get her to stay,” Haley said of Hanna on the “BFFs” podcast.
The New York Post reports “[Influencing and WWE] could be in the future, but I think it’s more of having passive income and we’re super into health and fitness, so we’re trying to create a brand with that and then we really want to get into real estate,” Hanna said on the “BFFs Podcast.” Here's the statement on Haley's twitter.
"Hanna and I have decided to not take our fifth year and start a new chapter in our lives. The U will always be home and we are forever proud to be Hurricanes".
Haley currently ranks 26th on the On3 NIL valuations with $930,000. Hanna is 28th at $924,000.
The Cavinder Twins leaving comes on the heels of Miami's first Elite Eight appearance in school history. Their loss came to eventual champion LSU. Their presence certainly made this last season special. Good luck in the future to two amazing women.
Former Florida High School Students Are Cashing In Big With NIL Money
The latest NIL valuations are out from On3 and there's some very familiar names on top. Bronny James and Arch Manning benefitted from their family names in their rise to the top 2 on the list. They're also amazing athletes, but having an already famous last name gave them a head start when it came to NIL money. Livvy Dunne comes in at number 3 with a huge following. She's even popping up on tv commercials. It's just insane how Bronny is almost double what anyone else is making. It shows how much more the rest can make. Here's the Top 10. One of them is a former Florida High School student - we'll get to that. But also to note is what former North Fort Myers High School legend Deion Sanders is doing with Colorado. He's got two of his guys in the top 7! Not bad for a team that went 1-11 last year. Coach is putting in work.
If you're a Miami Hurricanes fan (Pete) and you're wondering where the Cavinder Twins are on this list - don't fret. Combined they would be in 7th place. The list has them as individuals, placing them both in a tie for 31st. Still making a decent living playing college ball.
So let's take a look at the athletes that came out of a Florida High School. If you're here in the Sunshine state with aspirations, these might be the ones to follow to see how they're making it happen. And it's not all Miami high schools. Former Tampa and Bradenton students made the Top 100 list as well.
