It's time to head over to North Fort Myers for The Southwest Florida & Lee County Fair! I'm pretty sure my taste buds just did a backflip of joy. I don't know about you, but the mere thought of deep-fried Reese's peanut butter cups, corn dogs, fried Oreos, elephant ears, and funnel cakes is enough to make me salivate uncontrollably.
And let's not forget about the sheer excitement of the fair itself. I mean, where else can you see farm animals, ride the Ferris wheel, and chow down on deep-fried goodness all in one place? It's like a dream come true.
But back to the food. Let's start with the deep-fried Reese's peanut butter cups. Whoever thought to take one of the most beloved candies of all time and dunk it in hot oil deserves a medal. It's like biting into a warm, gooey cloud of peanut buttery heaven. I'm pretty sure I could eat a whole bucket of these bad boys and still want more.
And then there's the corn dogs. Is there anything more quintessentially fair food than a corn dog? I think not. Something about that crispy cornmeal exterior and juicy hot dog center just screams "good times". Plus, it's basically a meal on a stick, so you can eat it while you ride the Tilt-A-Whirl. Talk about multitasking!
North Fort Myers:
But let's not forget about the fried Oreos. I mean, come on. Oreos are already amazing on their own, but when you coat them in batter and fry them to crispy perfection, they become a whole new level of deliciousness. I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing the first time I tried one.
And don't even get me started on elephant ears and funnel cakes. These sugary, doughy treats are the stuff of dreams. They're like the fair's version of a warm hug. If you're feeling down, just grab a funnel cake and suddenly the world is a brighter place.
So, if you're in the Southwest Florida area, do yourself a favor and head to the Lee County Civic Center for the fair. It's a hundred years of memories in the making, and the food alone is worth the trip. Just make sure to bring your stretchy pants.
2023 Florida State And County Fair Schedule
Making a list of the Florida Sate And Florida County Fair Schedule was on my calendar since early this year. That's when I realized the Charlotte County fair had already started. Guess I better get to it.
I'm a big fan of going to county fairs especially. Be it the demolition derby at the Collier County Fair, or the Moonlight Madness at the Lee County Fair. There's always something going on. And it's the one time of year I eat deep fried Oreos. Not sure why, but I need those. And you haven't lived until you ride the giant ferris wheel during Moonlight Madness. All those lights on the ground as you rotate up high into the dark sky. Magical.
We usually have tickets to give away to Lee and Collier County Fairs, check here to see if we're currently doing giveaways. Winning a four pack of unlimited ride wristbands is no joke. Just set the kids loose and meet back up a few hours later. Ride everything. Twice. Heck, ten times if you want.
So let's take a look at the Florida County Fair Schedule for 2023. I'll also include the Florida State Fair in Tampa. That one is coming up quite soon, too. Sorry I waited too long to get this out. I was watching cat videos. This list is January-March 2023.
