ABSOLUTE FINAL NFL POWER RANKINGS FOLLOWING SUPER BOWL LVII IN GLENDALE ARIZONA
IT'S A FINAL! Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs for their Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles! It seems like yesterday that it was summer time and we were begging the NFL season to start. Now it's over and it's time to rank all 32 teams one more time, once and for all, with our absolute final NFL power rankings. But before we list our Final NFL Power Rankings lets take a quick look back at the season.
The Buffalo Bills started as the preseason favorite to win it all. Before the season ended, Damar Hamlin's grave health scare made us all Bills fans. Speaking of injuries, Tua suffered multiple concussions and yet the Dolphins limped into the postseason after an 8-3 start. Pittsburgh was dreadful but Mike Tomlin figured a way to avoid his first ever losing season. The Titans slid off the map and the Jags turned out to be pretty decent. And the Colts... well, I'm not sure what to say about them this season.
Speaking of disasters, the Raiders blew more three-score leads than I can remember. KC is still good as long as Patrick Mahomes is there. And let's not forget about Joe Burrow and the Bengals and how they are poised to make another Super Bowl run.
In the NFC, the Cowboys tried to make a run at them but something isn't quite right with that team. Tom Brady's career ends with a losing record. The Vikings love the nail-biters and the Lions were busy biting knee-caps. The Rams repeat bid was a disaster and Mr. Irrelevant gave the 49ers some excitement.
It's been a crazy, crazy season. And we loved every minute of it. So, one more time, here's our Absolute Final NFL Power Rankings for the Shemon and Sheppard Show on ESPN Southwest Florida. Enjoy and feel free to share.
32. CHICAGO BEARS
It's Justin Fields and everybody else. What will they do with that draft pick???
31. HOUSTON TEXANS
One bright spot to this season is they get a bright mind like DeMeco Ryans.
30. ARIZONA CARDINALS
Will a new coach make an immediate difference, especially if Kyler Murray is out long?
29. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Some nice pieces but a rudderless ship.
28. DENVER BRONCOS
Not great. How long will it take for Sean Payton to turn them around?
27. LOS ANGELES RAMS
This window shut in a hurry. Can they open it one more time?
26. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Directionless at the moment.
25. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Not sure why Jameis Winston did not play more.
24. ATLANTA FALCONS
Not great. But in the NFC South, who knows?
23. CAROLINA PANTHERS
Rebuilding again.
22. CLEVELAND BROWNS
Paper champs. Nice roster. No results.
21. TENNESSEE TITANS
These guys could go either way next year.
20. NEW YORK JETS
Just a QB away, right?
19. GREEN BAY PACKERS
Now their QB can go "find" himself. He might find another team.
18. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
They squeezed what they could out of this roster.
17. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Yikes.
16. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Farewell to Tom Brady. We will see what the future brings.
15. PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Mike Tomlin is one heck of a coach!!!
14. BALTIMORE RAVENS
They did what they could with the QB situation.
13. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Nice turn around by a solid QB-Coach Combo.
12. NEW YORK GIANTS
An over-achieving year!
11. DETROIT LIONS
Solid effort by "Man" Campbell! A winning record in Motown!
10. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Pete Carroll got them further that I'd thought they'd go.
9. MIAMI DOLPHINS
Nice season but everything hinges on Tua's health.
8. DALLAS COWBOYS
I'm just not sure if they can go all the way.
7. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Justin Herbert will be a winner.
6. MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Hot offense. Cool Defense.
5. CINCINNATI BENGALS
As long as they have Joe Burrow they have a chance!
4. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
This team is built to win now.
3. BUFFALO BILLS
They may get their next year.
2. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Well, they won it all! What else is there to say?
