Last Friday in Boca Raton, 50-year-old Robert J. Guarini crashed his recently purchased Ford GT into a palm tree because he was “unfamiliar with how to drive stick shift”. Robert was just down the road from his house when he made the shift from 1st to 2nd when he lost control of his 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition. Robert was quoted: “I don’t want people to think I was racing at 90 mph," Guarini says. "I was going 35 mph.”

The shady part is that the car was not registered or insured, and that after the crash the driver hitched a ride back to his house before reporting it.

The Ford GT was bought in Palm Beach at a Barret-Jackson auction last month for $704,000.  User Ottomatik80 commented on a Reddit thread, “The dude had a suspended license, no insurance, and claims to not know how to drive stick properly. More money than sense is my take. It’s a shame [he] took a GT out along the way though.”

Too much car.

I'm not gonna leave you with that image of Robert J. Guarini smashed car. Here's some non-wrecked GTs.
