‘Top Gun: Maverick’: New Trailer Has Details on Val Kilmer’s ‘Iceman’

Tom Cruise plays Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick from Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Top Gun: Maverick, after being delayed thanks to the ongoing pandemic, has finally received approval for flyby and will be released in theaters on May 27. Thanks to a new trailer, fans now have more details on the involvement of Val Kilmer's character Tom "Iceman" Kazansky.

Embedded below, it's revealed "Iceman," who is now a Navy admiral, has called on Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) to teach a new batch of aviators at Top Gun. There's also a juicy standoff between "Maverick" and Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of Lt. Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), the late radar intercept officer (RIO) for "Maverick" in the original 1986 movie.

Top Gun: Maverick also stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman and Ed Harris.
