Christmas is coming early next month with Costco free samples!!!
After a 14-month hiatus, Costco plans to begin “a phased return to full sampling,” according to NBC2.
Around 170 US locations will be bringing back food samples in the first week of June, said Costco Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti on Thursday.
Most of the remaining locations will be returning towards the end of June, Galanti said.
The sampling protocol has been changed since pre-COVID. The samples will now be made behind plexiglass and in smaller batches to be distributed to customers one at a time.
Another aspect that shoppers will see adjustments to are the food courts. Beginning next month, some stores will have outdoor food courts.
Alternatively, indoor seating will be back at the majority of Costco’s 560 US locations with “more physical separation.” Tables will have four seats instead of six or eight and there will be a decrease in seating capacity, Galanti said.
Costco is replacing its frozen yogurt with ice cream this summer. The chain is also adding churros to menus, which will be available on July 4.
Galanti stated that their food court business hasn’t fully recovered to their 2019 levels. It’s probably going to take another several months, according to Galanti.
