Seems like more and more people are learning just how important a live mic can be when it comes to remembering that other people can hear what you say. And that’s exactly the lesson learned by Rashaad Coward’s wife after she leaked her husband’s trade to the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of any official announcement. As heard by Reddit user ProbationOfficer2035, Coward’s wife was playing Call of Duty Warzone with randoms, and she accidentally had her husband get picked up on the mic discussing a forthcoming trade. The wife then confirmed to the other teammates that it was her husband on the phone and that he played in the NFL, but she didn’t confirm who he was exactly.
That’s when the sleuthing really kicked in. Her teammate then checked out her Twitter history and saw she interacted a TON with the Chicago Bears merch shop account. As others began to speculate that it might be restricted free agent and former Bears player Rashaad Coward, his agent Brian Adkins tweeted only to comment that Rashaad's wife, who games on Twitch and YouTube as OohTally, is indeed an "entertaining gamer."
"The last thing I heard was that if no one else calls within the next 30 minutes he’s gonna sign a 3-year deal in order to facilitate the trade because he would love to be in Pittsburgh," ProbationOfficer2035 reported in the Reddit post. It appears no one else called, as Coward officially announced his signing with the Steelers on Monday evening.
Just goes to show, sometimes you’ve gotta be aware that when you’re on a hot mic, EVERYBODY can hear what you say! No harm, no foul though, as her husband is now officially a part of the Steelers and looking forward to playing in the upcoming season.
