Yelp Is Paying Adult Children $2K To Move Out of Their Parent’s Houses

Parents dreaming about living an empty-nest lifestyle are in for a treat! Yelp is giving away $2,000 to help adult children move out of their childhood homes.

The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed millions of Americans, especially young adults, to move in with family members. About 52% of young Americans ages 18 to 29 are now living with at least one of their parent, according to a recent Pew Research Center report.

Yelp wants to help parents "Re-Empty the Nest" by easing the financial stress that can often come with a move. 10 recipients will be issued a $2,000 gift card that can be used to cover moving expenses, cleaning services related to the move, or other pros to make the transition easier, according to their website.

To enter, grown-up kids or their folks need to have or enroll for a Yelp account utilizing their first name and last initial as their username and upload a photograph of themselves as their profile picture. At that point they'll have to utilize the free "Request a Quote" highlight on Yelp's site or app to request a quote from one of these services: moving, home cleaning, plumbing, landscaping, or handyman.

After they've submitted a quote request, they’ll need to fill out an entry form on the contest homepage that includes why they need Yelp’s help, and a snapshot of their submitted quote request.
