Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard Goes Missing During Swim at Venice Beach

Shad Gaspard

Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard is reportedly after swimming at Venice Beach yesterday (May 17.)

Per TMZ, Gaspard and his 10-year-old son were swimming and "...were among a group of swimmers caught in a strong rip current around 4 PM -- with lifeguards racing into the water to pull everyone out. Gaspard's son was rescued -- but the 39-year-old pro wrestler has not been located."

TMZ adds, "One official working with the L.A. Fire Dept. told media they believe the 39-year-old 'did submerge.' Divers were sent to scour the area. Helicopters were searching from above."

Gaspard's time with the WWE spanned from 2002-2006 and 2008-2010. He began by appearing on the reality television show Tough Enough 2 in 2002 and would later debut in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), the then WWE development territory, in 2003. In 2006, Gaspard would form the tag team The Gang Stars with The Neighborhoodie. The team would make their main roster debut later that year on Monday Night Raw under the new name Cryme Time, with The Neighborhoodie also being renamed JTG. After being released from WWE in 2007, Cryme Time would return in 2008 for a two-year run.
