Brush Fire Forces Evacuations in Golden Gate Estates
A large brush fire forced residents to evacuate Wednesday afternoon in a Golden Gate Estates neighborhood, according to NBC2.
The brush fire burning at 36th Avenue SE and Everglades Boulevard South has scorched nearly 60 acres as of 3 p.m.
Residents along 34th Avenue SW, 36th Avenue SE, and 38th Avenue SE have been evacuated, according to Florida Forest Service. The fire is threatening at least 30 structures.
Everglades Boulevard South is currently closed to traffic from 16th Ave SE to 40th Avenue SE.
