San Diego Comic-Con Still Hopeful Event Will Happen in July
With the Coronavirus pandemic postponing or canceling pretty much every imaginable large public gathering taking place in the very near future, it's almost surprising to hear of an event that actually still planning to go on as scheduled.
Enter San Diego Comin-Con.
The organizers of SDCC shared the following tweet that appears to indicate they're hopeful the July 23-26 event will still happen. The two-tweet thread reads, "To our amazing Comic-Con and WonderCon fans: We understand how difficult the current climate has been for all of us and appreciate your continued support through these trying times. No one is as hopeful as we are that we will be able to celebrate #SDCC2020 together come July. As we continue to monitor the situation with local authorities, we will post updates on our social channels! Until then, remember: 'A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.' — Christopher Reeve."
So far, there appears to be no known deadline as to when SDCC has to decide to cancel 2020's con.
