Idris Elba On Misinformation Circulating Amid Coronavirus Scare

Idris Elba

LONDON, ENGLAND – MARCH 04: Idris Elba speaks on stage during WE Day UK 2020 at The SSE Arena, Wembley on March 04, 2020 in London, England.

Idris Elba recently took to social media to talk about the misinformation that's currently circulating amid the coronavirus epidemic.

In a video, the actor addressed black people globally, saying that they can get COVID-19.

"Something that’s sort of scaring me when I read the comments and see some of the comments. My people, black people, please understand [about] coronavirus: you can get it," Elba said in the video.

"There are so many stupid ridiculous conspiracy theories about black people not being able to get it," Elba continued.

"That’s dumb. That’s stupid. That’s the quickest way to get more black people killed. Please understand that you can get it."
