Disney+ Pushes Up 'Frozen 2' Arrival Because Of Coronavirus

UPDATE: 3/14/2020 8:40 PM ET:  Disney+ has pushed up the release of Frozen 2 once again: the film is now available for streaming in the United States.

The video streaming service shared via Twitter, "It's here! #Frozen2 is now streaming on #DisneyPlus in the US. Coming to Canada, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand this Tuesday.

Yesterday (March 13), Disney+ said the film would be coming to the service on March 15, three months before its initial release. Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in a statement, "'Frozen 2' has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device."

If you are looking for something to binge-watch while laying low amid coronavirus concerns, Disney+ is here to help. The streaming service has pushed up the arrival of Frozen 2 by three months. "Surprise! #Frozen2 is coming early to #DisneyPlus," they announced on social media. They add, "Start streaming this Sunday."

According to Rolling Stone, Frozen 2 was expected to arrive in June. In a statement, Disney CEO Bob Chapek explains the companies decision, saying, "Frozen 2 has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device."
