Dwight Howard has confirmed that he will return to the All-Star Slam Dunk contest after more than a 10-year absence.

Speaking Wednesday following the Lakers takedown of the Knicks, Howard revealed that he asked the league to allow him to participate.

Since the request was approved, he's now is trying his luck at getting another big name to join him.

"I'm trying to get Kobe," the 2008 dunk winner told reporters, adding, "So if I can get all the Laker fans to lobby to get Kobe to help me in the dunk contest, that'd be really good. That'd be awesome."
