After almost 2 decades of mediocrity, the 2019 Miami Dolphins are finally changing that narrative.
Since the days of Dan Marino, the Miami Dolphins have been one of the least interesting, least covered, and least impactful teams in the NFL. That is finally starting to change. Since Thursday afternoon, Miami has traded away Leremy Tunsil, Kenny Stills and Kiko Alanso. They received Houston's 1st round pick in 2020 and 2021, Houston's 2nd in 2021. After all the deals we're done Sunday morning, the Dolphins have the most draft picks in the next 2 drafts:
The Dolphins have enough ammunition to move anywhere they want in the next two drafts. If they decide after one season Tua or Herbert isn't their guy, they will most likely be in a position where they aren't completely out of the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. If they can draft, and hit on half of their draft picks over the next two years, they will have rebuilt a quarter of their roster.
The Miami Dolphins will be terrible in 2019. But for the first time in a very long time, the future has a little bit of hope.
