Dez Bryant says he’ll get a ring if Saints win Super Bowl

Dez Bryant’s season has been by all counts, a disappointment. He declined a multi-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens during the offseason because he wanted a “prove it” one-year deal that would lead to a bigger contract next offseason- that did not work.

He sat out the 1st half of the season, taking to social media to tell fans that he was just waiting for the right team to reach out. That team reached out in week 10.

The New Orleans Saints, coming off a 45-35 win over the L.A. Rams, signed the former Pro Bowl receiver to his one year “prove it” deal. He was in a spot where he could succeed- He could be a part of a dynamic offense, something he didn’t have in Dallas, and a legitimate chance to win a Super Bowl. 2 days after signing with the Saints, the receiver tore his Achilles tendon. His season was over before getting a chance to “prove it.”

Yesterday the Saints took their first step towards their second Super Bowl in franchise history with a 20-14 come from behind win over the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, and apparently this was the first step towards Dez getting a ring? Once again, the wide receiver took to social media to let everyone know he will get a ring once the Saints win the Super Bowl.

So a diva receiver turns down a job at the beginning of the season, sits out the first 9 weeks before signing with a team whose success he had nothing to do with, gets injured before seeing the field, and he is getting a ring? Sorry Dez, but the parking attendants at the stadium had more to do with success of the Saints than you. Hope to see you back on the field, but you’re better than this. #ThrowUpTheX
