A Florida teen was taken into custody by authorities after allegedly stabbing his parents while they were asleep.
The name of the 16-year-old has not been released because he is a minor.
According to People Magazine, the incident occurred on January 10 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Both of the teen's parents survived after sustaining stab wounds and are currently recovering from their injuries. After the attack, their son fled his home and was found a short time later at a nearby church.
The teen has since confessed to the stabbings and faces charges of aggravated battery. He has since been released from jail.
At this time, it is still being decided on whether the teen will be tried as a juvenile or an adult.
