Wicked Dolphin In Cape Coral Was Named One Of The Top 10 Rum Distilleries In The United States
I'm not a rum snob, but the first time I tried Wicked Dolphin I noticed that it was special. So how is it that one of the top rum distilleries in the country happens to be located in Cape Coral? We'll get to that.
USA Today has a feature of '10best' where they rank, well, just about anything that people are passionate about. I first became aware of the site when they ranked The 10 Best Roller Coasters. When I saw they ranked rum distilleries I had to have a look.
WD is the only Florida distiller on the list. They're actually the only one in the south to be featured. What makes them special? I got this from their site: "Started in 2012, Wicked Dolphin Distillery is located in Cape Coral, just miles from the fertile sugarcane fields of Florida. Wicked Dolphin Rum was born out of an idea for a true Florida Rum. Using 100% Florida sugar and local ingredients, our rum is handcrafted in small batches using an American copper pot still, the largest in South Florida."
Check out USA Today's page for their full methodology on the rankings. So how does Wicked Dolphin rank against the others in the Top 10 distilleries in the United States? Have a look.
