We made it through another work week! And boy what a hot one it was. Summer is definitely here and so are your Weekend Vibes, what’s happening in Southwest Florida June 16-18. For many it is a three day weekend. Monday is a federal holiday, Juneteenth. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

In addition, it is Father's Day weekend. If you're hoping to take dear old dad to Father's Day brunch, secure a reservation ASAP if you have not done so. If you still need a few gift ideas, we've got some here. In addition, there are also a few events specifically geared towards dad. Spoiler alert, they involve cars. Keep scrolling down for those and more.

There is a little bit of something for everyone taking place this weekend. Lighthouse Beach on Sanibel reopens for the first time since Hurricane Ian. If you head out there, remember the causeway beaches are still closed and you will get fined if you pull over. For something completely different, you can immerse yourself in the world of dinosaurs at the Lee Civic Center. Enjoy live music in downtown Fort Myers for Music Walk. In Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda this weekend it is all about Caribbean Culture and blues music.

It has been more than eight months since Hurricane Ian hit and parts of Southwest Florida are still wrecked. Life is still challenging for many many people and businesses. If the beginning of this hurricane season is causing a rise in stress and anxiety for you, please make time to take care of yourself. In addition, Father's Day can be challenging for anyone who has recently lost theirs. Take time to grieve if you need to and here are some resources if you need  a little more help dealing with things.

Finally, here are your Weekend Vibes, what’s happening in Southwest Florida June 16-18. Get out and have some fun this weekend.
