How many times do you say "I just need another hour?" Or maybe its 15 minutes. Regardless, we get more time this weekend thanks to Daylight Savings Time. Here are ten things to do with an extra hour just in case you are in need of some suggestions.
Setting the clock back for an extra hour
It happens on Sunday. We fall back. That means at 2am becomes 1am. You wont run the chance of being late to anything on Sunday. However, if you don't pay attention, you could be one hour early to brunch or any events, gatherings, or meetings.
Your body clock does not know that the wall clock has changed. It will still be operating on the same rhythm in regards to waking up and such. So if you stay in that rhythm, you will indeed have an extra hour on Sunday.
Time is a gift in more ways than one. I wish I had more time with friends and loved ones who have passed. On several occasions I wish I had more time when running through airports to catch a flight. Or an extra hour on the beach that one perfect day in the islands. While none of us can get that kind of time back, we are given a gift this weekend.
Don't discount the impact of an hour, or what you can accomplish in a matter of 60 minutes.

#1 Volunteer
There is so much work still to be done in Hurricane Ian recovery. More people need help then there are hands lending. Volunteer through your church, Harry Chapin food bank, United Way and more.
#2 Take a Nap
Chances are you are sleep deprived. Naps are said to help boost learning and memory. They also help reduce stress among other things.
#3 Clean out your inbox
You have how many emails? Just like clutter on your desk, clutter in your inbox can slow down your work flow and clog your creativity.
#4 Make that phone call
When was the last time you called your mother? Or _____. Fill in the blank. A friend, a relative, someone who has been on your mind. Take the time to make that call this weekend.
#5 Read
When was the last time you picked up a book or magazine? Perhaps you need to finish one you've started. Reading improves brain connectivity, it helps your vocabulary and even lowers your blood pressure. Reading also can help you sleep.
#6 Exercise
Take walk, play some pickleball, get back in the gym like you've been promising to do. The hardest part of most exercise is getting out the door.
#7 Daydream
You may have been reprimanded for daydreaming in school. However, as an adult it has it's benefits. It can help stimulate your creativity, find solutions to challenges, and reduces anxiety. Keep those dreams positive. What would you do with the $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot?
#8 family and friend time
Take time to unplug. Play, listen, just "be" with friends and family.
#9 Cook
For some people, cooking is just as good for the soul as it is for the body. Make something healthy and make enough for meals later in the week.
#10 Holiday planning
Holidays are right around the corner and now is the time to get ready. Plan your meals, your gift list, your parties and even your Christmas card list. It will help when things start getting busy.
