With the Miami Heat dominating the Boston Celtics in the NBA Playoffs, tickets to see them live can be a bit pricey. But one thing that can be overlooked is how much money everyone outside the arena is looking to make. Local parking prices are matching the play of the Miami Heat.
Before we get to that, parking in Miami is always a bit pricey. Paying $30 to park on a pothole laden piece of land to see the Miami Dolphins play is a bit of a bargain. Valet parking on South Beach starts at $50. The Bayside Marketplace parking garage is usually around $30. Until there is a playoff game and everyone's looking to get rich. Miami Heat parking is showing that.
The Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics Tuesday night at 8:30. The Heat lead the series 3-0 and if you watched the last game, it clearly looks like the Celtics have given up. Tuesday night should close out the series and send the Heat to the Finals. No word on what that will do to the prices parking garages will charge. Bayside Marketplace is full of really nice shops and places to eat. It's a short walk to the Kaseya Center. And if you think this was a spur of the moment decision to charge $100 for parking, nah. They had that sign printed and ready to go.
Here's a sign at Bayside Marketplace
Normally this sign shows $30. I guess this is their 'playoff price'. One comment said it went up to $150 closer to game time.
