NFL free agency is open- pretty much. The legal tampering period is the 48-hour runway to when free agents can actually sign with teams. The Miami Dolphins got the party started a few hours early for NFL fans. Miami has acquired CB Jalen Ramsey for a 3rd round pick and TE Hunter Long. Ramsey joins Xavien Howard and Javon Holland in a loaded secondary. But Miami might not be done adding elite pieces to an already loaded secondary. Jordan Poyer is one of the best Safeties on the open market. Two of the others have already been signed. Jessie Bates with Atlanta and Vonn Bell with Carolina. That leaves Jordan Poyer as the elite Safety on the market. And it is apparent Jordan Poyer wants the Miami Dolphins.
It's a new world with social media where we get glimpses of what athletes are thinking. And Jordan Poyer clearly wants the Miami Dolphins based on some of the tweets he is liking. If Poyer signs with the Dolphins, it would make Xavien Howard the weak link in the Miami secondary. He is still a top-10 cornerback in the league. Vic Fangio, the new Miami Dolphins DC, has plenty of talent to roll out a top-10 defense. But the addition of Poyer would give him the best secondary in the league. This would put Brandon Jones in a peculiar situation, but nothing the team can't overcome. That secondary with a front 4 of Jaelen Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Christian Wilkins and Zach Sieler. Opposing offenses would have nightmares. Here are some of the tweets that show Jordan Poyer want the Miami Dolphins.
Ron DeSantis Tweet
This is not a political tweet. But it is interesting that Poyer liked the tweet from the Governor of Florida.
Weather is a Plus
I'm sure Jordan and Chad have a good relationship. But this seems like an odd tweet to like.
Bills Fans Know
Again, these are all tweet that Jordan Poyer has liked. He knows he's a Florida guy at heart.
State Income Tax
Jordan has played home games in New York his whole career. Liking this tweet is sending a pretty strong message.
