This includes those living on the barrier islands of Don Pedro Island, Knight Island (Palm Island), Little Gasparilla Island, Gasparilla Island and Manasota Key, as well as residents in any zone living in mobile homes and trailers. Check your zone.
As of 9am Tuesday morning, there is only one evacuation area for Charlotte County. That is Zone A or red areas on the county maps. Don't know your zone? Click here.
This area includes those living on the barrier islands of Don Pedro Island, Knight Island (Palm Island), Little Gasparilla Island, Gasparilla Island, and Manasota Key. In addition, the zone includes residents in any zone, not just A, who are living in mobile homes and trailers.
Government officials are advising if that is you, please stay with friends and family members who live outside of evacuation areas or flood zones. Those friends should also reside in a well-constructed home. As always, if you have no place to go, shelters are refuges of last resort. However, it is better to be safe in one than in danger elsewhere.
