The holiday season is full steam ahead so here are some DIY Christmas decorations for TikTok Tuesday. Things you can do to turn up the festive meter at your home.
First and foremost, I understand there are people in Southwest Florida who are not that into decorating this year, following Hurricane Ian. People have lost decorations they've collected their entire lives. Others no longer have a home to decorate at all. No amount of tinsel and twinkling lights can make that better.
However, there are people who still love the spirit of the holidays, even when their spirits aren't as bright as they have been in years past. If you don't feel like decorating, that's OK. It's also OK if you do. We all feel things differently during the holidays and always have. Hurricane Ian may just shine the spotlight on it more than normal this year.
My social media feeds have been full of fun and festive looking holiday decor in the past weeks. Here is one example. When I first saw this video it was mesmerizing. So then I scrolled a little more and saw several "FAILED" attempts at replicating this.
However, I think I figured out why. I believe the key is having a ton of these clear marbles or rocks and just enough water to barely top them, so nothing floats away. Watch this video and you'll understand what I mean.
The finished product looks so cool. Think about lots of small versions of this for table settings at your dinner or party.
You do not have to subscribe to, or have a TikTok account of your own to view these videos. Simply scroll down, hit play and find some inspiration. I picked the top five videos that appeared to be somewhat easy while looking good.
